SoleLocal is built around meeting in person. Follow these guidelines to make every deal safe and smooth.
Choosing a Location
- Meet in a public, well-lit area with foot traffic — malls, coffee shops, or police station lobbies.
- Many police stations have designated safe-trade zones with cameras.
- Avoid private residences, parking garages, or isolated areas.
- Daytime meetups are always preferable.
Before the Meetup
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Communicate only through SoleLocal messages — keep a record of the conversation.
- Agree on the price, size, and condition before meeting.
- Check the seller's or buyer's profile, ratings, and deal history.
During the Deal
- Bring a friend if possible, especially for high-value transactions.
- Inspect the shoes thoroughly before exchanging money.
- Use cash or peer-to-peer payment apps (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App). Never wire transfers.
- If something feels off — wrong size, different condition than described, or the person makes you uncomfortable — walk away.
After the Deal
- Leave a review on SoleLocal to help the community.
- Mark the listing as sold or traded so other buyers know it's no longer available.
- If you experience any issues, use the report feature on the seller's profile.
